Meet the Owners of Glow Fitness for Women
Katie Miller, Andrea Gertner, and Amanda Moorhouse co-own Glow.
(L-R) Katie, Amanda and Andrea at Glow
Katie Miller is an entrepreneur and graduate of Red River College’s Creative Communications program. She previously founded FriendMatch, an international tech platform that launched nationally on CBC’s Dragons’ Den.
Katie later founded Glow Fitness for Women after learning that Curves locations had closed across the country. Having always appreciated the simplicity and effectiveness of the 30-minute circuit herself, she suspected other women missed it too.
She sourced the original-style circuit equipment and built a new brand around the concept—keeping the approachable workout women loved while creating a more modern gym experience with 24-hour access, fitness classes, yoga and Reformer Pilates.
Glow was designed to feel different from a traditional gym: welcoming to all fitness levels, easy to fit into real life, and with a little more of a spa-like feel than a typical fitness centre.
Our journey as business partners began when Amanda and Andrea, inspired by Katie’s vision and the community Glow had built, became co-owners. United by shared values and genuine friendship, we believe that health is wealth.
We aim for a collaborative, fun-filled approach to running Glow, making a space where women of all backgrounds feel empowered, supported, and celebrated. Together, we are proud to be making a powerful impact on the lives of women in Selkirk and the surrounding areas
Andrea Gertner brings over 17 years of management experience and a strong background in recreation. She earned her 200-Hour Yoga Teaching Certification in 2017 and has been leading yoga classes at Glow since its inception. Andrea’s dedication to promoting the mental, physical, and social benefits of an active lifestyle shines through both at Glow and in her broader work in the recreation field. Her passion for helping others thrive through movement is a cornerstone of Glow’s success.
Amanda Moorhouse studied Therapeutic Recreation at Red River College and began her journey with Glow as a Fitness Coach. From day one, she felt a deep connection to the welcoming, empowering atmosphere and knew she had found her calling. As a mother to three teenage daughters, Amanda is committed to modeling and inspiring strength, balance, and wellness in both her family and the broader community. Her leadership and warmth are integral to Glow’s inclusive culture.
